Kihei Shores is a fee simple residential condominium complex across the street from Kamaole III beach and up a long driveway with 10 buildings ranging from one story to four stories on a nearly 7 acre property. Built in 1992, Kihei Shores offers a great location walking distance to shops, restaurants, fine dining and the sandy beaches in South Maui.
Nine units are one bedroom and one bath with interiors that range from 597-599 square feet. There is a single one bedroom, one bath unit with a 681 square foot interior. There are three two bedrooms, one bath apartments with interiors that range from 719 to 733 square feet. Twenty condos have two bedrooms, two baths and 698 square foot interiors. One hundred and forty-eight condominiums have two bedrooms, two baths and 719 to 733 square foot interiors.
Thirty-nine units have three bedrooms, two baths and 1031 to 1035 square foot interiors. All homes have covered lanais that are approximately 53 square feet. If light and bright is not what you after, check out the units with numbers that start with 00 to find basement walk out homes that have glass patio doors out to a lanai and grassy area, but not much more in the way of natural light. Residents in upper floors stay in shape using stairs as this complex has no elevators. The flag shaped lot on which Kihei Shores sits means it is set back from busy and noisy South Kihei by a long driveway. This reduces road noise, but does add extra steps for residents to walk to get to destinations on Kihei Road or to the beach. Kihei Shores does not allow short term or vacation rentals or pets. There is no smoking except in specific outdoor locations.
Onsite amenities include a modest swimming pool, hot tub, Barbecue grills, picnic areas, car wash area, and one assigned parking space. Kayak and stand-up paddle board storage is available for a nominal monthly fee. Monthly maintenance fee covers exterior building maintenance, grounds lighting & maintenance, landscape upgrades, pool & spa maintenance, pest control, security and on-call emergency assistance, as well as the Kihei Shores Association’s insurance policy.
A portion also goes towards the reserve account to fund large projects like the recently installed new roofs and the photo voltaic panels installed to use solar power to run the New LED parking lot lights, common area lighting, and pool and spa pumps and heater. There are future plans for this well managed condominium to continue with clean energy and install electric vehicle charging stations so residents with electric cars can recharge onsite.
